Product: hp office jet pro 8710

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I can not print my bank statement. The PDF is normal but when it prints the figures are all blacked out. The bank said this is a security issue with my printer.

@RuellBean

Yes,the issuemight be the result some form of security. In general, document security is either embedded in the document -- or, in the case of paper documents, the security can be embedded in the paper on which the original document is printed.

Embedded security in a bank statement downloaded as a PDF is possible though unlikely. (The bank would / should know if their documents contain security features that prevent printing.) There is no "paper original", so embedded security in the paper does not apply to the situation.

Bank statements, like othersimilar type documents, might contain content the printer cannot translate.

Try / Consider:

If the file will not print due to unusual content (odd fonts, color schemes, tables, other oddities), print the file as an Image.

Image printing does not require the printer software to translate file content.

Reinstall / Update your PDF Reader (Adobe Reader DC / Foxit Reader)

  • HINT: Watch out for and UNCHECK unwanted extra software

For example:

Open the offending PDF file in Adobe Reader DC > File > Print > Advanced >>

  1. Set the printer select the colors (Optional)
  2. Print the PDF file as an image
