How do you turn your phone service back on? ›

Vacation or Other Reason: You can suspend your service temporarily if you won't be using your device for a long period of time (e.g., going on a vacation, illness, etc.).

When you suspend a line, all calls, text messages, voicemail, and data services are suspended. You'll keep your number and monthly plan, but monthly fees are prorated depending on the type of suspension.

Go to att.com/suspend. Select Reactivate next to the suspended device. Follow the prompts to reactivate it.

You can use the Seasonal Hold Plan. Your service will be paused, and your account and phone number will be waiting for you when you get home. After 6 months, you'll need to visit Self Serve and select a new rate plan from available rate plans.

Suspending a SIM is equivalent of barring access to that SIM so that it may not perform any usage. The process does not deprovision or terminate the SIM card. Any historic usage is retained too for reporting purposes. You may then resume a SIM card later.

While suspended, your line will not be able to access, make, or receive calls on the Verizon wireless data network. During the suspension, your line wouldn't be billed any charges, including any charges associated with an active device payment agreement for the inactive line(s).

When you suspend a line, you won't be able to make or receive calls or text messages using the Verizon network. You can suspend your line of service for up to a total of 180 days in any rolling 12-month period (not based on calendar year).

No Guarantee of Delivery: Even if the text message is sent successfully, there is no guarantee that it will reach the intended recipient. Since the phone is disconnected, the message will not be received on the device.

Immediate Voicemail: If calls to someone's phone go directly to voicemail without ringing, it's a common sign the phone is dead or turned off.

Active numbers can be reached when you call them, typically these numbers will either be answered or will go to a voicemail or continue to ring, text messages sent to numbers that are active will be marked as Delivered.

Causes of Mobile Data Not Working

A no-data connection error can result from a basic software glitch, damaged hardware, or even a network-wide outage that renders the entire mobile network unavailable.

On your new iPhone, go to Settings > Cellular, tap Set Up Cellular or Add eSIM, then tap Transfer From Nearby iPhone or choose a phone number. On your previous iPhone, follow the instructions to confirm the transfer.
