It's a good private Jesuit school. Most teachers are excellent, but you may encounter some who are lazy or who grade harshly for insignificant reasons. The worst are those who try to befriend the students. The cafeteria has changed; the food is terrible, and you can taste the reused oil. It's definitely not worth paying for the unlimited meal plan; it's just convenient since there aren't many choices around campus. The acceptance rate is high, but retention is low because they accept students who can't handle the coursework, and they eventually have to leave the school. However, the school received one year's tuition from someone who never should have been admitted. It is a great stepping stone for someone may want to continue to grad school or transfer to a better university.

I met my best friends here and I loved a lot of my professors. I also participated in a varsity sport which made the experience all the more special. The variety of clubs and things on campus to get involved in is wonderful. Scranton is truly a special place.

Loved everything about my time at the U. The professors get to know who you are by name and are willing to help you at all costs. The dining facilities are great. There is something for everyone, volunteering, sports, parties, clubs, etc. Made lifelong friends there.

What I really like about the University of Scranton is the community involved in it. They were all extremely cheery and mindful to one another, and treat each other with respect.

I had an absolutely wonderful time at the University of Scranton. I attended as a double major in secondary education and history. I love my time in both departments and connected with so many of the professors. The professors are very personable and are very easy to come to, whether you have a question or just want to chat with them. The campus life is also great, the school hosts many different events throughout the years and provides many options for people who have various interests. I lived on campus all four years that I attended and the housing was always good. The food at the school is also excellent and was another great aspect of the school. What I loved most however about the school was the community. It was the thing that always stuck out the most for me, how much people cared for one another. I have nothing but positive experience at the University of Scranton. I met so many wonderful people and received a great education

I'm from the area so I know a little bit about the local spots around here. You kinda need to know someone who knows the area to get a lot out of the area. The only downside is parking.

University of Scranton was a great experience while I studied there. The campus was well kept and safe. The food was good and you were well cared for on campus. Professors were nice, dedicated, and always ready to help students. Housing was shoddy dorms for underclassmen, but new buildings exist for Juniors and Seniors. The surrounding community was less comforting, some nice areas downtown that got dodgy at night. Less of a party scene than elsewhere you may be considering.

The University of Scranton is a small and family orientated campus. The staff are very friendly and help their students adjust to the college life.

First things first, if you do NOT drink, this University is not for you. Technically, there is no "Greek Life" on campus, but a majority of the sports teams are the places where the parties are thrown. The food is fine but the meal swipe that is given by the university is not enough to get yourself a meal on the first floor. The freshman dorms vary in quality, some are not terrible, and others are absolutely bad. There is absolutely ZERO school spirit when it comes to sports. There's no football team, nobody goes to any of the games besides the parents and there is just no energy anywhere on campus. I consider this place as "High School 2.0". Everyone either comes in with a friend group and stays with them or gets outcasted by everyone. People are not open to meeting people unlike what the U claims. The only reason the review isn't one star is because I feel the professors genuinely care for students' success and care for them, at least for my major. "Kinesiology". DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

Great food! Friendly, helpful student body. Move-in day was so organized, amazingly helpful. Direction signs and students helping students get into their dorms was wonderfully orchestrated! Thank you.

I really enjoy the school and campus, and I really feel like they do care about hteir students. DUring my first semester I had pneumonia for about a month, and then my friend had been shot from my hometown, so it was rough. I mainly just had problems with two professors, so I am now on academic probation due to my attendance, but admin is supporting me rather well.

I started my freshman year at Scranton this August and I have loved it. I got involved with two club sports as well as a pre-professional club. Everyone I have met has been so welcoming and I was able to make friends very quickly. The enviroment is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone.

As a prospective freshman transfer student who has visited campus and spoke to mutiple staff members, it was warm and inviting. The staff are incredibly helpful and the campus is welcoming. You fit right in as there is a place for everyone who attends. It is next to beautiful moutain scenery where you can see the trees of the poconos. It is the perfect mixture of city and the suburbs so you never get homesick.

The University of Scranton is a wonderful school. It’s a small campus with a lot of amenities. The curriculum is well thought out, the breaks are scheduled well, and all of the staff are extremely helpful. It’s an easy campus to navigate as well. There’s nothing I would change.

As a senior, if I were to do it all over again, I would NOT attend The University of Scranton. The problem I had here was not the professors, but the students. I would not recommend going here unless you know multiple people from your high school. As someone who grew up in New Jersey with money, I had no problem fitting in here. Most of the students here come from well-to-do families from New Jersey, Long Island and Philadelphia suburbs. The students are a good group of behaved individuals. The type where if you left your dorm room unlocked nothing would be taken. They stay in their little friend groups from their prep schools and boarding schools. I found it VERY difficult to make decent friends here. The professors are the reason I stayed all four years. I have even had some who were willing to come in on the weekend to help students prior to exams. The University of Scranton is expensive, but some students get a job prior to graduating through the school's strong alumni connections.

I like the class sizes and the student involvement opportunities. Some specific things that I would like to see change are the hours of the chemistry stockroom - they are not inclusive to all lab section times, the prices and options for food, and some of the professor's attitudes towards teaching. Additionally, peer tutoring is hard to get registered for. If you think that you are going to struggle in a class, I recommend contacting the tutoring center as soon as possible, or you will not receive a response. The library is great however and there are many places to study on campus. There is a large population of both residents and commuters, so you will likely be able to find people easily to whom you can relate.

For a variety of reasons, I like attending Scranton University. I felt an extraordinary sense of belonging and camaraderie the moment I stepped foot on campus. The warm and welcoming climate at the university develops intimate interactions with both peers and instructors, creating a conducive environment for personal growth and academic performance. The wide selection of extracurricular activities and clubs has helped me to pursue my interests and discover new ones, enriching my college experience. Furthermore, the university's commitment to service and social justice resonates well with my ideals, allowing me to make a positive difference in the world. Scranton University is more than simply a place to learn; it is a home that fosters my intellectual, social, and personal development, making every day on campus worthwhile.
