EPA conducts analyses to understand the physical and economic impacts of climate change under different emission scenarios and to quantify the economic impacts and effectiveness of proposed climate policies. EPA also provides free tools to state, local, and Tribal governments to help them evaluate their own clean energy policies and programs.

EPA’s Participation in the U.S. Global Change Research Program

EPA is one of 13 federal government agencies working as part of the U.S. Global Change Research Programto help the world understand, assess, and respond to global change. EPA participates in the Sustained Assessment Working Group and contributes to the program's development of the National Climate Assessment.
